I am running for Florida Senate because our families deserve opportunity, our seniors deserve respect, our children deserve quality educational opportunities, and our communities deserve a strong voice in Tallahassee.
As a former Miami Gardens Councilwoman, educator, businesswoman, and community advocate, I understand the challenges facing working families and the opportunities that exist when government works for the people.
Meet Lady Shannan
Experienced leadership. Community first.
Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro is a former Miami Gardens Councilwoman, educator, businesswoman, community advocate, wife, mother, and proud Bahamian-American immigrant.
Born in Nassau, Bahamas, Shannan came to the United States with faith, determination, and a commitment to building a better future. Her journey reflects the values of hard work, perseverance, service, and opportunity that continue to guide her today.
Shannan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Memorial University and a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership at Voorhees University.
Today, she is running for Florida Senate District 34 to bring experienced leadership, independent thinking, and a community-first approach to Tallahassee.
